The B-1 visa is a U.S. visitor visa for people traveling temporarily for business activities such as meetings, consultations, conferences, negotiations, and certain commercial transactions. It is not a work visa and generally cannot be used to take employment in the United States.
B-1 Visa Requirements 🇺🇸
- Valid Passport – A valid passport suitable for travel to the United States is required.
- DS-160 Form – Complete and submit the online DS-160 Nonimmigrant Visa Application and keep the confirmation page.
- Visa Application Fee – The current B-category visa application fee is US$185 and is non-refundable.
- Valid Business Purpose – Your trip should involve permitted temporary business activities such as business meetings, consultations, conferences, contract negotiations, or certain commercial transactions.
- Proof of Business – Prepare relevant evidence such as a company registration, employment letter, business correspondence, conference registration, or meeting details.
- Financial Proof – Show that you can reasonably cover your travel and living expenses.

🇵🇰 B-1 Visa for Pakistani Applicants
Pakistani nationals, the current U.S. reciprocity schedule lists B-1 as multiple-entry with a 60-month validity period and no additional reciprocity fee. This is the visa’s validity period, not permission to remain in the United States for five years; the authorized stay for each entry is determined separately.
